Are there any requirements for acceptance of infants on Condor flights?
No more than one infant under the age of 2 years can be transported for each adult (not entitled to their own seat). An infant must be booked as a child for both the outbound and the return flight if the infant reaches the age of 2 years prior to the return flight. This applies even if the child is not two years of age at the time of the outbound flight.
Condor recommends for infants the use of an approved child safety seat during the flight, but the infant must have a reserved seat.
Does Condor offer discounts for infants and children?
Only infants fly at a discount when an accompanying adult purchases a full fare ticket on Condor (there is no discount offered for Condor’s Special Rate). The person who pays full fare must have made reservations through the Condor Flight-Only program. For each person paying full fare, a 90% discount in all classes will be offered for one infant (under 2 years of age) without a seat.
There is no discount for children, and hence nor for infants with a reserved seat.
Infant on Lap
On Condor flights, infants can travel secured in an adult’s lap by a loop belt. On long-haul routes (zones 3, 4 and 5) in Premium Class and Business Class, you can make a reservation for a bassinet no later than 2 working days (48 hours) before departure. Bassinets are available for infants up to the age of 6 months and/or a maximum weight of 8 kg.
On all Condor flights, infants not occupying a seat have no hand baggage allowance but are entitled to the following free checked baggage allowance:
Route | Checked Baggage Allowance |
All flights, except originating in Brazil | 10 kg |
Flights originating in Brazil | 1 baggage item up to maximum 23 kg (50 lbs) |
In addition to this allowance, two of the following items are transported in the cargo hold at no extra charge: buggies, strollers, cribs, and car safety seats.
Car Safety Seats on Board
The EU regulations state that infants traveling on airplanes must be secured by either loop belts or child safety seats, and Condor’s recommendation is to use an approved child safety seat during the flight. Child safety seats must be licensed for securing via two-point belts (lap belts). Certain seats are designed to accommodate child safety seats.
If you want to use your child safety seat on board, prior notification (at least 48 hours prior to departure) is required. At the time of registering the child safety seat, Condor requires the following details: the infant’s age and weight, child seat standard and identification number, seat dimensions, flight data (flight number, date, route) and passenger data (first and last name of all accompanying passengers, transaction number, e-mail address, phone number). Please note that a seat reservation must be made for at least 2 people (infant/child plus accompanying adult), and the regular fare is charged for the infant. Child safety seats not registered in advance will not be allocated dedicated seats, and Condor may refuse to transport them in the cabin.
Amenities
Babies and children amenities are offered on Condor flights. At most airports, preboarding is offered for families with infants under the age of 2. Parents can receive baby supplies such as diapers, baby food, and bottles on Condor long-haul flights, upon request and subject to availability. Bathrooms are equipped with changing tables on all flights.
Condor offers a wide-ranging program for children of all ages on its flights:
- Children can listen to exciting stories and a host of children’s songs on the children’s audio channel.
- Time flies by with the fun coloring supplies and toys for children of all ages.
- Older children (and parents) should get ready for a laugh fest: with the cartoons in Condor’s video program.
- Condor’s scrumptious “flight”- style gummy bears, best enjoyed with the exciting entertainment in the kids magazines.
