What is Philippine Airlines’ policy with regard to carry-on baggage?
Each passenger traveling on a Philippine Airlines flight is allowed one piece of carry-on baggage. In order to fit in the overhead bin or under the passenger seat in front, it must comply with the following restrictions:
- Maximum size (length+width+height) of 45 in (115 cm).
- Maximum weight of 7 kg (15 lbs).
In addition to the one piece of carry-on baggage and to assistive devices that are carried free of charge for persons with disabilities, each passenger is allowed to carry on board a maximum of 2 of any the following items:

What is Philippine Airlines’ policy with regard to checked baggage?
Philippine Airlines introduced a new range of Branded Fares, where each fare brand is associated with a distinct free baggage allowance (FBA) based on either the Weight or Piece Concept, depending on specific routes. The FBA is valid only for the entire journey indicated on the ticket and may not necessarily apply to connecting flights. Philippine Airlines or other carriers may collect excess baggage fees if the free baggage allowance is lower on the connecting flights.
Free Baggage Allowance
The following domestic FBAs, based on the fare purchased, apply only on domestic tickets purchased separately from an international ticket:

Prepaid Baggage Service
Philippine Airlines offers this special services allowing passengers to pre-pay their excess baggage. The service is available through online booking, Call Center and Ticket Offices between the time of booking up to 4 hours prior to departure or until check-in, if completed prior to the 4 hours cut-off time. Prepaid baggage is subject to the following rules:
- Weight Concept:
- Not available on flights to/from Basco, Busuanga, and Surigao.
- Available in blocks of 5 kg.
- Maximum 10 kg – to/from Calbayog, Catarman, and Naga.
- Maximum 20 kg per passenger per sector – the rest of domestic routes.
- Maximum 40 kg per passenger per sector – international routes.
- Discounts apply (60-70% – domestic, 20% – Asia, 40-45% – Pacific).
- Piece Concept:
- Maximum 23 kg per piece.
- Maximum 2 pieces per passenger per sector.

Baggage Services
You must report immediately any baggage incident. The Baggage Assistance Counter, located at the Arrival Area, is available for any inquiries regarding your baggage. If lost baggage is not found by the 5th day after the baggage was reported missing, then the baggage will be considered lost, and you must fill the necessary.
