Air Algérie’s passengers are permitted only one piece of hand baggage, no other articles being permitted. Any other items, such as a handbag, a laptop, or a camera, must be put inside the free cabin bag.
Size and weight limits for the free cabin bag depend on the type of aircraft operating the flight:
- Boeing & Airbus aircraft – maximum weight 10 kg and maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 25 cm.
- ATR 72-200 – maximum weight 5 kg and maximum dimensions of 40 x 30 x 20 cm.
What is the free checked baggage allowance?
On all Air Algerie flights, a free baggage allowance is offered depending on the type of aircraft operating the flight, itinerary and travel class:
- ATR 72-200 – 20 kg.
- Boeing & Airbus aircraft:

- Domestic Algeria:
- Economy – 20 kg.
- Business – 30 kg.
- First – 40 kg.
- Africa (except Morocco and Tunisia): all classes – 40 kg.
- Europe, Morocco, Turkey, Tunisia:
- Economy – 30 kg.
- Business & First – 40 kg.
- Domestic Algeria:
- Piece Concept:
- Amman Beijing, Cairo, Dubai, Montreal:
- Economy – 2 pieces of checked baggage up to 23 kg each.
- Business & First – 3 pieces of checked baggage up to 23 kg each.
- Brussels South Charleroi Airport:
- Economy – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg
- Amman Beijing, Cairo, Dubai, Montreal:
- Weight Concept:
The sum of the three dimensions of a checked bag (height + length + width) must not exceed 158 cm. For handling reasons, luggage weight should not exceed 32 kg per bag.

Baggage service
Air Algérie tickets and registration desks provide baggage stickers for the passengers. They are asked to fill in these stickers with their personal information, and attach them both on the inside and the outside of their luggage.
If your baggage is lost, contact Air Algerie Baggage Service before leaving the arrival airport, providing the baggage receipt that was provided to you at check-in. Missing objects from your baggage must be declared within 3 days after the flight.
