Are children allowed to travel alone on Air Caraibes flights?

Children aged 2 to 4 years must be accompanied by a parent or someone who is 18 years or older.

Children aged 4 to 11 years (inclusive) may travel alone only on direct flights operated by Air Caraibes, providing that advanced arrangement was made for the Unaccompanied Minors service.

The Unaccompanied Minors service is optional for children aged 12 to 16 years (inclusive) who are traveling alone.

No Unaccompanied Minor is accepted on flights to/from Port-au-Prince and Santo Domingo.

What is the procedure for the Unaccompanied Minors (UM) service?

Air Caraibes accepts Unaccompanied Minors only on direct flights in Economy Class (Soleil). The Unaccompanied Minors service must be requested in advance. Due to safety reasons, a limited number of Unaccompanied Minors can be accepted per flight. Air Caraibes – TGV AIR combined tickets are not available for Unaccompanied Minors. Tickets for Unaccompanied Minors are subject to a special fare that includes the following checked baggage allowance  (besides the hand baggage allowance):

  • Mandatory UM service – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg.
  • Optional UM service – 2 pieces of checked baggage up to 23 kg each.

Unaccompanied Minors up to 12 years old cannot be travel with a pet in the cabin.

An Air Caraibes employee will accompany the UM to and from the aircraft, and special attention will be given to him/her on board. The person accompanying the Unaccompanied Minor at check-in must remain at the airport until the plane takes off.
