Are there any age requirements when traveling with babies on airBaltic flights?
Babies under 2 years of age are considered infants. An infant must be accompanied by an adult passenger, and the adult must be at least 16 years old to be able to accompany an infant. One adult is allowed accompany only one infant.
Does airBaltic offer discounts for babies and children?
For infant tickets (infants without a seat), airBaltic offers a 90% discount on the applicable fare. Depending on the destination, taxes and fees may apply. When buying a round trip ticket, the infant must still be under 2 years of age on the date of the return flight. Otherwise, you must buy separate tickets for the outbound and return flights. Infants holding an infant ticket will not have their own seat on board. However, if you want a separate seat for your baby, you can opt for the applicable child’s fare. airBaltic does not allow on board car seats exceeding the hand luggage weight and size restrictions.
Children aged 2-11 years (included) get a 25% discount on fares. When buying a round trip ticket, the child must still be under 12 years of age on the date of the return flight. Otherwise, you must buy separate tickets for the outbound and return flights.
Traveling with Babies
You can buy an infant ticket or a child ticket for your baby online. When choosing your seat, you will have to choose one of the seats designated for adult passengers traveling with an infant. airBaltic accepts no more than 4 infants on flights operated by Bombardier Q400 aircraft and no more than 10 infants on flights operated by Bombardier CS300 or Boeing aircraft.
Child/infant car type seats or other restraint systems must not exceed the hand luggage weight and size restrictions and are not authorized for use on airBaltic flights during take-off and landing even if you booked a child ticket.
Passengers traveling with infants are allowed to use one of the self-check-in options offered by airBaltic. However, if you prefer to check in at an airBaltic desk, the airport check-in fee is not applicable to passengers traveling with an infant.
Infant Baggage Allowance
Infants have a free baggage allowance of one piece of checked baggage up to 10 kg. On top of the free checked baggage allowance, one fully collapsible pram or stroller, a carrycot or an infant car seat can be transported free of charge. The adult’s baggage and infant’s baggage can be pooled.
