Business Class on A330-200

Seat was a bit uncomfortable, due to age and a bar which was across the middle of my back, close proximity to the bulkhead and bassinets.
Food was alright and there was plenty of legroom, infotainment was pretty good with latest films, Virgin usual high standards.

Flew Virgin on air berlin. we sat in the five rows of extra leg room which was very spacious the leg room is excellent. however in economy the seating looks horrendous very very tight space. if you can try to book extra leg room. Make note there are only five rows of EX Leg room from row 15 to 19.

Legroom has been ok for a short flight of one hour. Of course, all is quite tight, it is a quite small plane.

Seat 3A has a well aligned window for great views of Mt Etna for the most common take-off direction from Catania. Of the extra leg room rows for which AB charges a premium, Row 3 seems to have more room on top. On my flight in late March 2017, most of these rows only had 1 or 2 passengers per side.

Duitse passagiers werden goed bedient. Mijn vriendin kreeg vegetarisch eten omdat het op zou zijn, de rijen achter haar kregen vlees. Duitsers haalden zelf drinken op, mijn dochter haalt het op krijgt een nee te horen! De lampjes van de riemen vast branden. \dus wanneer de lampjes riemen vast is dat bedoelt voor alleen Nederlanders? ?? Ik ga vragen hoe of wat kreeg een grote mond en mocht een flesje water krijgen koffie kon niet. Waarom kregen de Duitsers dan wel koffie voor mij en na mij? Koud zeker!! Personeel van airberlin discrimineert op deze lage manier de Nederlanders! De lampen riemen vast branden vanaf dat personeel gaat slapen tot ze wakker worden! Dus 6 uur geen bediening! Door het Engels van de piloot werd door heen gesproken met lachen en grapjes van oudere stewardess die achter ons zat nou ja half hing op een stoel, wij als niet Duitsers konden het niet verstaan. Denk aan Veiligheid!!! Geen uitleg veiligheid vliegtuig kijk maar naar scherm. Terug reis werd dat wel gedaan door het personeel. Zo wel heen als terug verzakte stoelen, oud vliegtuig zeer veel lawaai. Reis ook een ware ramp, voorste passagier zette de stoel direct in achterste stand been ruimte had ik amper meer en ben 1 meter 76. Mijn dochter 1 meter 65 idem. En daar betaal je dan voor!!! En er ging nog veel meer mis maar vraag mij af wat de toegevoegde waarde is want zal wel niks mee gedaan worden. Triest personeel die totaal geen veiligheidsgevoel kennen. Online inchecken zat het vliegtuig bijna vol. Ik heb gebeld nee klopte niet maar ik kon bij air Berlin stoelen reserveren. Vraag waarom zie ik dat online niet dan? Ja online klopte niet…. Kosten heen en terug meer dan 300 euro extra. Ik spreek een Nederlander in het vliegtuig en die zei, reserveren? Helemaal niet nodig en ik reis al 15 jaar met air berline en die beste man zat voor mij! Conclusie, nooit weer air berline en dat zal ik ook schrijven op diverse fora want zoals er met ons als Nederlanders mee omgegaan is, is meer dan schandalig! Naderhand enorm veel kosten er bij, uiteindelijk veel te duur uit. Volgende x weer TUI of welke maatschappij maar nooit weer air berline!! Zal ik ook aanbevelen aan de Nederlanders die denken voordeliger via air berlijn te kunnen vliegen. Het eten werd er even snel door heen gestampt, flesjes drinken uit gedeeld dit heen en terug reis. Reden, personeel gaat achter in het vliegtuig in een soort zelfgemaakte tent slapen!!! Wat als een passagier een hart aanval krijgt zich verslikt?? Jullie personeel slaapt! Ook maar door geven aan luchtvaart veiligheid dat personeel minimaal 6 uur slaapt tijdens de reis. Ik vind dit te gek voor woorden veiligheid mag nooit op het spel staan!!!

Please watch out since the seating in our plane (flight AB7446 on Jan 4th 2016) was NOT the one shown on this website or any other seating plan we could find (not even Air Berlin's). Identical staggered cubicles but inverted window/aisle positions. E.g. second row had 02A and not 02C, third row had 03C and not 03A and so on.
Seats are horribly narrow and not long enough in the flat position, reading lamp not usable, almost no room to put your belongings. OK for day flight in the seating position. Obviously not keeping their promises. Should be changed.
I did not use the IFE unless to track the route. So no idea of IFE's value (I gave it a 3 stars since it is a mandatory field) but wonderful large screen and terrific definition of the route tracker. Drinks generally OK, real French Champagne being an asset. Lunch food nothing fancy but generally OK, snacks not OK.
Excellent service by highly motivated and attentive flight attendants as well as remarkably professional (Tunisian) check-in agent.
Amenity kit included slippers, a definite asset as far as hygiene is concerned.
Cabin was clean.
No separate business class counter during night before check-in service !!! Not acceptable IMHO.

We paid for these two seats both ways ($100 total I think) and I think it was worth it. Close enough to bathrooms, but people were not standing by your seat. Did not have to crawl over strangers from the middle seats (like we did before). As far as legroom, recline, etc they are all the same. Probably similar for 37AC.

I certainly would not pay for row 36 for AC or HK. Maybe DEFG if you want the space in front of you, but the edge seats have constricted legroom b/c of the exit door.

They have 1 or more planes with a A-seat in row 25.
(I booked 26A, but was moved auomaticly few days before departure)

I paid $184.96 to prebook two XL seats with "4 inch/10cm more space with improved seat comfort and individually adjustable head rests. When we boarded the plane it was an exit row. The assigned seats were Row 36 H and K. Seat K had fully the right half of the leg room taken up by the emergency slide cover. It is a horrible seat with room for your left leg only. You have a viewing window partially behind the seat, tray tables and entertainment screen comes up out of the arm rests. I want my money back! There was not more leg room or seat width.
