Seat30A
FromLondon - London Heathrow (LHR)
ToNew York - John F Kennedy Intl (JFK)
30A is a window seat in the front row of the Premium Economy cabin.
Cabin is quite small (4 rows) and looks modern and well maintained.
This 777 had BA's new cabin with the Club Suites in Business Class.
Seat has great legroom, it is worth trying to get the front row as it is also easier to jump over your neighbour to get out, if the aisle seat in occupied.
Recline is limited and the seat is fairly narrow.
Food quality was good, and the cabin crew were very friendly and efficient.
IFE kit was the same as has been used for several years, needs updating

Comfortable seating with reasonable amount of space, electronic connections fairly easy to access. Comfortable, easy operated flat be conversion. Blankets and pillows provided. Reasonable "convenience pack". Dinner was good with good wine choices, breakfast "filled a gap" but not vey appetising. Cabin service was excellent. Didn't use entertainment as tried to sleep, but choice looked good.

My biggest complaint is overhead luggage space being taken by passengers who sit elsewhere. My children has to have luggage on their feet as there was no space.

Seat2A
FromSan Francisco, CA - San Francisco International (SFO)
ToLondon - London Heathrow (LHR)
A British Airways 777 in the eight seat version in first class.
2A was the window seat. I was not troubled by the galley for first in front of seat 1A, nor the galley for business behind. the seats had sliding doors making each seat a private suite.
sitting the seat was wide enough, but converted into a bed I found it quite hard, and too narow, the mattress pad was not thick enough. Plenty of storage space, and a deep wide individual luggage compartment above, this easily took my wheel on bag and my brief case. The entertainment system provided the largest screen I have ever seen, but I found the controls a bit slow and fiddly. BA advertised free WiFi, this was a complete bust , it would engage for a few seconds and sometimes a whole minute before dropping out, I had hoped it would improve over land as we aproached Heathrow but no such luck. I was unable to send an email to my pick up, the plane was over two hours late, so my pick up kicked around Heathrow for an extra two hours.
The food was good as was the service, on trying to sleep, i found the cabin too bright, the "No Smoking"sign right above my head illuminated the bed brightly as did two cabin spotlights, pretty anoying.
Obviously I paid lots for the ticket, I felt paying that much for a two hours late flight with not much sleep was a waste of money. I would have felt better just paying the business class fare.
I have had better experiences on Air France 777's from Paris to SFO, wider , softer seats, better food.

Overall good. Better air quality helps on long flight. Downside aisles are narrow on 787 and BA lacks full seat adjustment and prefer the more open cabin of AA and JL 77W to the Dilbert cubicles . Personal taste, some folks like to be locked away. BA service was much better than usual. Food is more limited than JL or AA but good quality. I wish BA would serve a salad course.

Rear facing window seat. Was strange sitting backward at first, but you get used to it.
With the partition between the two seat up, it feels like you are in your own little exclusive cabin. The seat is very comfortable and adjusts into many positions including of course completely flat. The fold out tray has plenty of room for your food and drink when it's time to it. The entertainment system is responsive and BA usually have a great selection of current and older movies, TV series and games. I loved playing battleship with whomever was in 10K!
Cabin service was perfect. Not too intrusive and leaving a cart full of snacks and a fridge full of goodies you are allowed to raid at any time. Not that you need to as the food is very filling. It might not look very generous portion wise, but there are enough courses to fill you up. I've never felt so full on an aircraft. I never once actually nabbed anything from the cart or fridge.

The view of the frankly ginormous engine was also spectacular!

Flew on 64A to DFW. I was so happy to be able to bag a top deck seat. It had a very exclusive feel to it . With the aisle seat partition it feels like you're in your own little airborne suite. You have more than enough room and loads or storage thanks to the large bins under the windows. Seat 64A is also the rear most seat, meaning you do not have to step over anyone to get into it. With the partition up, it feels very private. The seat is adjustable to every position you could ever need, including of course lie flat.

The seat was comfortable with a well adjusted footrest. The food and drink was good and delivered by friendly helpful air attendants. Will never travel cattle class again on long haul and would hope to be able to try business class sometime!
