Do I need to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with Croatia Airlines?
Children from 7 days old and up to 2 years of age may travel as infants – they do not occupy a separate seat, but sit on an adult’s lap. You do not have to reserve a seat for your baby, but it is possible to book a regular passenger seat for a baby.
Does Croatia Airlines offer discounts for infants and children?
Infants travel free of charge on domestic flights and at 10% of the adult fare on international flights. Infants have to be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age (16 if within the same family). Since the number of infants is limited according to the type of aircraft, Croatia Airlines must be pre-notified.
For children from 2 up to 12 years of age accompanied by an adult, Croatia Airlines offers a 33% discount on international flights and a 50% discount on domestic flights.
Traveling with Babies
You can book a separate passenger seat for your baby at the applicable child fare. A baby car seat approved for air travel and that cannot measure over 40 cm (15.7 inches) has to be used. Please call the airline for details on using restraint devices and buying a seat for your infant.
One adult can travel with maximum two infants, and one of them must be at least 6 months old. The second infant must occupy a separate seat and be seated in an approved car seat.
In addition to their hand baggage, passengers traveling with an infant may also take on board infant’s food for consumption during the flight and one stroller, carrying basket or child car seat (checked at the boarding gate or aircraft door). Car seats may be taken in the cabin only if a separate seat has been booked for the baby.
Infants, regardless of the travel class, are entitled to a free baggage allowance of one piece of maximum 23 kg and 158 cm. A baby stroller is transported free of charge when children up to 4 years of age travel with Croatia Airlines. The stroller can be checked at the boarding gate or aircraft door, so please check with check-in staff as it depends on the airport.
Croatia Airlines may offer pre-boarding to passengers traveling with young children or many children. Only in Business Class, Croatia Airlines offers baby meals that you must order at least 24 hours prior to the flight.
