Does Croatia Airlines offer the Unaccompanied Minor Service?

Yes, Croatia Airlines offers the Unaccompanied Minor Service for when children have to travel alone.

What is the required age for a child to qualify as an Unaccompanied Minor?

A child must be at least 5 years old to travel as an Unaccompanied Minor. Children aged between 5 and 12 can travel alone only as Unaccompanied Minors, but the service is also available on an optional basis, only upon special request, for young passengers between 12 and 18 years of age.

Unaccompanied Minor Service

To travel as an Unaccompanied Minor, a child must have all necessary documents (flight ticket, his/her own passport, visa, the Unaccompanied Minor form). The Unaccompanied Minor form must contain all details about the child and the person who escorts the child to the departure airport, as well as the person who will meet the child at the arrival airport.

After check-in, a Croatia Airlines staff member accompanies the child to the aircraft, but the person accompanying the child must remain at the airport until the departure of the flight. The child is boarded first, and the flight attendants pay special attention to the Unaccompanied Minor during the whole flight.

The child is disembarked last and accompanied by a Croatia Airlines staff member to the person designated to meet the child at the arrival airport, who must provide an ID and sign the Unaccompanied Minor form.

Fees

The Unaccompanied Minor service fee must be paid at the same time with the ticket and depends on whether it is a domestic or international flight. Also, the Unaccompanied Minor service fee for domestic flights depends on where the ticket is purchased and whether the domestic segment is a part of an international itinerary:

• Domestic flight (the whole travel is within Croatia):
  • HRK 200 + 25% VAT per segment – if the ticket is purchased in Croatia.
  • EUR 30 + 25 % VAT per segment – if the ticket is purchased abroad.
• Domestic flight as part of an international itinerary: EUR 40 per segment.
• International flight: EUR 40 per segment.
