Do I need to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with CSA Czech Airlines?
Infants (children aged up to 2 years) can travel on the lap of an adult passenger or in their own seat. On flights operated by Czech Airlines, an adult can travel with up to two infants. The second child must have a confirmed seat reservation.
Does CSA Czech Airlines offer discounts for infants and children?
If the tariff conditions allow it, Czech Airlines offers the following discounts:
- 90% discount for infants not occupying a seat.
- 25% discount for infants with a separate seat and children.
Traveling with Babies
Onboard Airbus A330 aircraft, babies weighing up to 11 kg (24 lbs) can be put in a carrycot with dimensions of 75 x 34 x 22 cm (29 x 13 x 8 in). The carrycot must be requested when you book your seat. Carrycots are also available onboard Airbus A319 aircraft, but only in Business Class.
Infants with a separate seat must be seated in a car seat certified for air travel (according to the European standard and with the ECE R44/03 label, or with the notice THIS RESTRAINT IS CERTIFIED FOR USE IN MOTOR VEHICLES AND AIRCRAFT.). The bottom of the car seat must not exceed 41 cm (16 inches) in depth and 42 cm (16.5 inches) in width.
Baggage
Infants without a separate seat are entitled to the following baggage:
- Hand baggage – no free allowance.
- Checked baggage:
- Economy Lite tariff package – no free allowance.
- All other fares – a free baggage allowance of one piece of checked baggage up to 10 kg and 115 cm (width + height + depth).
Infants with a separate seat have the same baggage allowances as adults based on the tariff package under which their ticket is issued.
In addition to the regular baggage, you can check in for free a folding buggy, or a portable crib, or an infant car seat. The folding buggy can be taken up to the aircraft door upon departure and returned to the aircraft during disembarkation, upon arrival.
