FrCan I reserve a seat for my baby when flying with Edelweiss Air?
Children aged under 2 years are not entitled to their own seat. If you want to book a separate seat for your baby, you must contact Edelweiss Call Center. If you book a seat for your baby, you must bring your own car seat. The seat must be forward-facing and certified for air travel.
Does Edelweiss Air offer discounts for children?
For infants (children aged under 2 years held on lap by an adult passenger), Edelweiss Air applies a 90% discount.
If you book a seat for your baby, the child discount applies. For children, Edelweiss Air offers a 25% discount.
Traveling with Babies
If you are travelling with a baby, you should know that you can talk to the cabin crew at any time if you would like to warm up some milk or baby food, and that the toilets have changing tables.
Baby Baskets
Baby baskets, cots for very small children up to 8 months of age, 11 kg in weight and a maximum of 70 cm long, are available on Edelweiss Air flights. Because their number is limited, you should make a reservation when booking your flight. Baby baskets are free of charge, and, although these can only be fitted in the first row of seats, and a charge applies for booking these seats, Edelweiss Air offers seat reservation free of charge to one adult traveling with an infant and another child or other children up to 11 years old. Baby baskets are available in every flight class on long-haul flights and only in Business Class on short-haul and medium-haul flights, as follows:

Infant Car Seats
If you have booked a seat for your infant, you must bring your own a car seat certified for air travel. The car seat bottom must not exceed 40 x 40 cm.
Due to safety reasons, it is not possible to book a separate seat for an infant in Business Class on Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft.
Free Baggage Allowance
For infants not entitled to a seat, the free baggage allowance included in the ticket is 1 piece of checked baggage up to 158 cm and 23 kg in all classes, plus one stroller, pushchair or buggy. If your pushchair or buggy collapses, then you can take it to the aircraft with you. If your flight departs from Zurich, at the airport, you can hire a pushchair to use it from check-in to the gate. The pushchair is suitable for children up to 4 years of age, and this service costs CHF 5.
