What is flydubai doing to ensure a safe journey during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Flydubai redesigned the passenger experience to enable travel in a safe environment that minimizes contact and offers passengers the confidence to travel. As it resumes flights with new safety standards, flydubai’s COVID-19 information hub provides you with all the information you need to make your travel plans and prepare for your trip:
- Travel requirements by country and when traveling to/via/from Dubai.
- PCR testing information.
- Travel safety during COVID-19.
- Rebooking and cancelation policy.
Travel Requirements by Country and When Traveling to/via/from Dubai
Before making any travel plans, you can check the COVID-19 information hub for any specific travel, testing, quarantine, and COVID-19 documentation requirements in the country of your departure, transit, or arrival. Make sure to check the latest updates regularly as requirements might change without prior notice.
As passenger procedures for traveling to or via Dubai are frequently changing, flydubai offers the information you need to know personalized to your circumstances: whether you’re a UAE citizen or resident returning to Dubai or a tourist traveling to or transiting Dubai.
PCR Testing Information
All passengers (except UAE nationals, passengers with moderate to severe disabilities, and children under 12) traveling to Dubai must hold a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. The test must be taken at an accredited laboratory, and you must present a printed copy, in English or Arabic, of the negative COVID-19 PCR test result to be accepted for travel. Soft copies on mobile phones and handwritten test results are not accepted. You can find a list of accredited testing laboratories on flydubai’s website.
For passengers traveling from Dubai and required to take a COVID-19 PCR test before departure, flydubai offers PCR testing at special rates in partnership with NMC Healthcare and Aster DM Healthcare.
Travel Safety during COVID-19
Flydubai is taking all necessary measures to ensure safe travel during the COVID-19 pandemic and that everyone is protected:
- You should check in for your flight online to help reduce contact with the airport staff. To support social distancing measures, proceed to board only when you are called. For smooth boarding, your passport should be open on the photo page, and you should hold your boarding pass at arm’s length for a crew member to inspect it.
- All passengers (except children under 6 and passengers with certain medical conditions) must wear a face mask throughout the entire journey: in the airport, during boarding and disembarkment, and throughout the flight, except when eating or drinking. Flydubai’s cabin crew wears personal protective equipment.
- Flydubai is regularly disinfecting its aircraft with manufacturer-certified cleaning products. Special attention is paid to high-touch surfaces.
- Throughout the flight, the air in the cabin stays fresh and clean because it is exchanged with air from outside every two to three minutes. When entering the cabin, the air is also sterile because it passes through HEPA filters which remove 99.9% of viruses, germs, and allergens.
