FrAre children allowed to travel alone on Helvetic Airways flights?
Depending on their age, children may be allowed to travel alone. For them, Helvetic Airways offers the Unaccompanied Minors service to ensure a safe trip from check-in until delivery to the person designated to receive the child at the destination.
What are the age restrictions of the Unaccompanied Minors service?
The Unaccompanied Minors service is available only for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years. They may travel alone as Unaccompanied Minors, under the supervision of Helvetic Airways staff.
Infants and children up to their 5th birthday are never allowed to travel alone. They are accepted only when accompanied by a guardian aged at least 15 years. The guardian must be in the position to supervise the child during the entire trip. This includes check-in and customs formalities, boarding, etc.
Adolescents from 12 years of age up (at the time of departure) are considered adults. For them, the Unaccompanied Minors service is not available, and Helvetic Airways provides no accompanying guardian or supervision.
Unaccompanied Minors Service
Unaccompanied Minors are only accepted if they are registered with Helvetic Airways via the Service Center. Tickets for Unaccompanied Minors must be booked in advance of the trip, at least 48 hours before departure. The number of Unaccompanied Minors per flight is limited. For the Unaccompanied Minors service, Helvetic Airways will charge an additional fee of CHF 80 per child and per route.
