HOP! does its utmost to make sure that children traveling alone have a pleasant experience and are comfortable on board. For this, HOP! offers the Kids Solo service especially for children traveling alone.
For whom is the Kids Solo service available?
The Kids Solo service is mandatory for all children aged between 4 and 12 years traveling alone on domestic flights in France and for all children aged between 5 and 15 years traveling alone on European flights.
The Kids Solo service is available and optional for children aged between 12 and 18 years traveling alone on domestic flights in France and for children aged between 15 and 18 years traveling alone on European flights.
Kids Solo Service
Plane tickets for Unaccompanied Minors can be booked online, but only from a computer. The child must be accompanied at the departure airport by an adult who must remain present until take-off. Upon departure, a person must also be designated for pick-up. At check-in, which has to be done at the check-in desk at the airport, your child will receive a UM envelope, which will contain your child’s ticket, boarding pass, valid ID with photo and the UM form.
In order to go through the required formalities, check-in should be completed for domestic flights at least 1 hour before the scheduled departure time, and for European flights 2 hours before the scheduled departure time. You should print and bring at the airport 4 copies of the completed Unaccompanied Minor (UM) form. Your child must have all required documents: valid ID with photograph and authorization to leave the country if required.
On board, HOP! staff will take special care of Unaccompanied Minors to ensure their comfort throughout the flight. Upon arrival, your child will be escorted to the person you have designated for pick-up, which must arrive at the airport by the flight’s scheduled arrival time with valid ID to pick up the child. Should the Unaccompanied Minor have a connecting flight, he/she will receive continuous assistance from HOP! staff until the check-in for the connecting flight departing from the same airport.
Fees
When the Kids Solo service is mandatory, the service fee and one piece of checked baggage are included in the price of the ticket.
The fee for the optional Kids Solo service is:
- €40 – direct domestic flights.
- €50 – connecting domestic flights.
- €50 – direct international flights.
- €75 – connecting international flights.
