A passenger’s carry-on allowance depends on the class of travel. In addition to this allowance, a passenger may carry on board, free of charge, a smaller bag or food and a collapsible baby stroller/pushchair for a child.
What is LOT policy with regard to checked baggage?
LOT Polish Airlines applies the Piece Concept for baggage allowances, which means that limitations apply on the number of pieces and the weight of each piece which a passenger may check for free. Checked baggage allowances depend on the travel class and route. For all LOT flights and regardless of travel class, the size of each piece of baggage is limited to 158 linear cm (width + height + depth).
Carry-on
Depending on travel class, passengers can bring on board, free of charge:

On LOT Polish Airlines flights, checked baggage allowances depend on travel class and route as follows:

For Miles & More status passengers, LOT Polish Airlines allows a more generous allowance. Senators and HON Circle Members, as well as Star Alliance Gold card holders, have an additional allowance of one piece of baggage up to 23 kg for Economy Simple & Saver fares and one piece with the maximum weight permitted for their travel class for all other fares. Only in Economy Class, passengers with Frequent Traveller (FTL) status are allowed one additional piece of baggage up to 23 kg.
Excess Baggage Fees
Baggage exceeding the limits set by number of pieces, weight or dimension will be subject to additional fees at check-in. Where passengers have no free baggage allowance, the following fee for the first piece of checked baggage applies:
- LOT Economy Saver – international and domestic flights:
- 80 PLN / 20 EUR / 28 CAD / 21 USD at any time before departure but only online and via LOT Contact Center or Ticketing Office.
- LOT Economy Simple:
- International flights – 60 PLN more than 12 hours before departure online and via LOT Contact Center.
- Domestic flights – 54 PLN more than 12 hours before departure.
You can pay the excess baggage fees in advance and save up to 20% on the charges below. My Extra Baggage service is available:
- Online for additional pieces of standard baggage (up to 23 kg and 158 cm) up to 12 hours before departure for international and domestic flights and up to 24 hours before departure for intercontinental flights.
- Via LOT Call Centre or Ticketing Offices for baggage which exceeds the standard weight and dimensions (23 kg and 158 cm) up to 24 hours before departure.
For pieces within the free baggage allowance that exceed the maximum weight and/or size, LOT Polish Airlines will charge the following fees:

Sporting Equipment
If within the free baggage allowance, sporting equipment may be carried free of charge. Sporting equipment may exceed the size limit of 158 cm, but the charge from the table applies if you exceed limitations with regard to the number of pieces or the weight per piece:

| **On LOT flights (except flights to/from the US and Canada), for Senators and HON Circle Members, as well as Star Alliance Gold card holders, one golf equipment and one ski equipment is transported free of charge. | |||
Some articles may not be accepted due to limited space for sporting equipment in the hold. For this reason, you should declare sporting equipment (type, weight and dimensions) no later than 24 hours before departure by calling LOT Call Center. Sporting equipment must not exceed the maximum weight of 45 kg, otherwise it must be sent through LOT Cargo.
Baggage Services
For passengers with Chopin Airport in Warsaw as final destination, LOT Polish Airlines offers the special Bag Delivery service, which means that your baggage will collected and delivered at the time and to the location specified by you (Warsaw and its suburbs). The price is 111 PLN, regardless of baggage quantity.
In case of any problems with regard to baggage (delay, damage), you must submit a formal Property Irregularity Report by contacting LOT Lost and Found Office before you leave the baggage collection area of the airport.
