What are the check-in deadlines for LOT Polish Airlines flights?
Before the check-in deadline of your flight, you must be in possession of the boarding pass and already have checked in your baggage even if you have already checked in using a self check-in option. The purpose of check-in deadlines is to ensure on-time departure of flights. The following check-in deadlines must be always taken into account:
- Warsaw Chopin Airport:
- 30 minutes before departure for short-haul flights to Schengen Area.
- 40 minutes before departure for short-haul flights to Non-Schengen Area.
- 60 minutes before departure for long-haul flights to North America and Asia.
- Poland, except Warsaw:
- 30 minutes before departure for domestic flights and short-haul flights to Europe, Middle East, and North Africa.
- 60 minutes before departure for long-haul flights to North America and Asia.
- Europe, Tbilisi, Yerevan:
- 30-45 minutes before departure for short-haul flights to Europe, Middle East, and North Africa and long-haul flights to North America and Asia.
- North America, Asia, Astana, Tel Aviv:
- 60 minutes before departure for long-haul flights.
Web and Mobile Check-in
LOT’s Web and Mobile Check-in services are available between 36 hours and 120 minutes before the scheduled departure of the flight. Thanks to the new mobile website and the LOT app, available for iOS and Android, you can do the check-in online not only from your home or office, but from wherever you are. For checking-in online, passengers will need their ticket number, booking code, or frequent traveller card number (if it was used for the e-ticket as identification form).
With LOT Web Check-in system, passengers are given the option of printing the boarding pass. Passengers also have the option to request the mobile boarding pass on their phone, after which the boarding pass is sent via text message with a link to an Internet address. When that address is selected, you will be redirected to the page where the mobile boarding pass is stored. If you save it onto your phone, you can access it at any time before departure.
LOT Automated Check-in System
You will be automatically checked in 36 hours before your flight, and your Web or Mobile Boarding Pass will be sent to your e-mail address or phone. The LOT Automated Check-in System can be used by any passenger traveling with LOT Polish Airlines just by ticking the Automatic Check-in box when buying a ticket on lot.com or registering no later than 37 hours before the departure time by calling the LOT Contact Center.
The service is active without the need to register for Business Class and Premium Economy passengers, passengers traveling with infants or children and Star Alliance Gold and Silver cardholders.
The service is not available when passport information during is required during check-in and cannot be used in the following countries: Canada, China, Japan, Romania, Russia, the UK, Ukraine, the US.
Self Check-in
At Chopin Airport in Warsaw, passengers can use a self-check-in kiosk to obtain their boarding pass just by entering the full name and reservation code. After the machine prints the boarding pass, passengers can drop their baggage at a dedicated counter.
Baggage check-in is also available at the self-check-in kiosk if you’re traveling directly to your destination, with no transfers. To check your baggage in, you just need to enter your data or scan your boarding pass, if you have already checked in using Web or Mobile Check-in, and print a self-adhesive baggage tag, apply it to your baggage and hand the baggage over at a LOT Bag Drop station. Passengers traveling with baggage exceeding the limits of LOT regulations or with special baggage must proceed to the check-in counters to check in their baggage.
Counter Check-in
For flights operated by LOT Polish Airlines (LO 001-3999), passengers can check in at a counter starting from:
- 23 hours before scheduled departure at the following airports: Warsaw (WAW), Copenhagen (CPH), Dusseldorf (DUS), Frankfurt (FRA), Geneva (GVA), Munich (MUC), Stockholm (ARN), Vienna (VIE).
- 3 hours before scheduled departure for flights from the US, Canada, China and other long-haul destinations.
- 2 hours before scheduled departure at all Polish airports (except Warsaw), as well as for short-haul flights at airports in Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
