In 2000, Nova Airways was established as a private airline based at Khartoum International Airport, Sudan. The company group also includes Nova catering services, Nova Handling services, Helog Sudan, and Aerotechnik.
Nova Airways operates domestic passenger flights, as well as international flights to destinations in Africa, with plans to add several Middle East destinations to its network.
In December 2013, Nova Airways launched direct flights to Asmara, ahead of larger airlines like Qatar Airways and Turkish Airlines, who’ve announced to make similar moves in the coming months.
As of November 2018, Nova Airways fleet operates 2 Bombardier CRJ 200 and 1 Boeing 737 500 aircraft and offers scheduled flights from Khartoum to Juba, El Fasher, Nyala, and Port Sudan.
Nova Airways is on the list of airlines banned within the EU.
