FrWhich age restrictions regarding babies apply on Olympic Air flights?
Olympic Air allows infants with their parent or guardian from the very first days of their life, as long as they fulfill the conditions to properly ensure their safety:
- Infants younger than 7 days will not be accepted for travel. A medical clearance is required, and the MEDIF procedure shall be followed if the infant does not fulfill the age restrictions.
- If the infant is born prematurely, parents need to provide certification from an obstetrician that the infant is in good health to travel.
Can I reserve a seat for my infant?
On Olympic Air flights (operated with ATR 42 600, Dash 8 Q100, Dash 8 Q400), infants up to 2 years of age can only travel on the lap of their parent or guardian. The infant fare is 10% of the corresponding adult fare.
Olympic Air requires the booking of an Exclusive Escort in case a parent or guardian wishes to travel with two infants (from 8 days to 2 years old). The charge of the Escort Service depends on the itinerary. The guardian must carry the infant’s necessary documents, as well as any other documents required for identification at the destination.
On Aegean Airlines flights (operated with Airbus A319, A320, and A321), a separate seat can be reserved for an infant. In this case, you must pay the child fare and bring a car seat (bottom may not exceed 40 x 40 cm), which must comply with the international safety standards. The child fare is 67% of the corresponding adult fare and valid for specific Economy Class fares (W, V, Q, H, M, B, Y) and all Business Class fares.
Infants’ Baggage
For infants, you are allowed one hand baggage up to 6 kg and with maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm. In passengers’ hand luggage is permitted to carry formula and/or breast milk. There is, however, the possibility that you will be inspected at the checkpoints.
One collapsible stroller or car seat can be transported as checked luggage without an extra charge.
Only when traveling on Aegean Airlines flights with an Economy Flex or Business Class ticket, infants traveling on lap are entitled to a free baggage allowance of one piece of checked baggage (up to 23 kilos and 158 cm in Economy Class or up to 32 kilos and 158 cm in Business Class), as well as a collapsible stroller.
