What is Olympic Air policy on carry-on allowance?
On flights operated by Olympic Air, passengers are allowed to carry in the cabin, without charge, one carry-on bag plus one personal item (subject to size and weight restrictions).
What is Olympic Air policy on checked baggage allowance?
On all flights, the GoLight Economy fare includes no free checked baggage allowance.
On flights operated by Olympic Air with ATR 42 600, Dash 8 Q100, and Dash 8 Q400 aircraft, all other fares include a free baggage allowance of 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg and 158 cm in total dimensions. Gold Miles+Bonus members get 1 additional piece of baggage, subject to the same size and weight limitations, free of charge.
Carry-on
On Olympic Air flights (operated with ATR 42 600, Dash 8 Q100, Dash 8 Q400), passengers may take on board only one piece of hand baggage not exceeding 8 kg in weight and 55 x 40 x 23 cm in dimensions (including handles, pockets, and wheels), plus one personal item (handbag or medium-sized backpack or laptop bag), that must fit under the seat in front.
On Aegean Airlines flights (operated with Airbus A319, A320, and A321), the following hand baggage allowances apply:
- Economy – one piece of hand baggage not exceeding 8 kg in weight and 56 x 45 x 25 cm in dimensions (including handles, pockets, and wheels), plus one personal item.
- Business – 2 carry-on bags, of which the first up to 8 kg and 56 x 45 x 25 cm and the second up to 5 kg and 45 x 35 x 20 cm, plus one personal item.
All additional items, such as a bag of duty-free items, small camera, overcoat, umbrella, etc. must be carried within the hand baggage. If your hand baggage exceeds the maximum weight/dimensions and additional items must be transported in the hold as checked baggage and checked baggage charges will apply.
For infants (0-2 years) you are allowed one bag up to 6 kg and maximum dimensions of 55 x 40 x 23 cm with their necessities (nutrition and hygiene), as well as one collapsible stroller. Children (2-11 years) are also entitled to one collapsible stroller.
Checked Baggage
On Olympic Air flights (operated with ATR 42 600, Dash 8 Q100, Dash 8 Q400), all passengers are entitled to a free baggage allowance of 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg and 158 cm in total dimensions.
On Aegean Airlines flights (operated with Airbus A319, A320, and A321), the following hand baggage allowances apply:
- Economy – depending on the fare purchased:
- Go Light – no free baggage allowance.
- Flex – 1 piece of checked baggage up to 23 kg and 158 cm.
- Business – 2 pieces of checked baggage up to 32 kg and 158 cm each.
- Exception – to/from Iran and Saudi Arabia, 1 piece up to 30 kg in Economy Class and 2 pieces up to 20 kg each in Business Class.
Excess Baggage Fees
Passengers may prepay for additional baggage online up to 2 hours before departure. Prepay charges are up to 70% lower than the amount charged for baggage purchased at the airport. The following charges apply for additional and/or overweight (23-32 kg) baggage:

Sports Equipment
Sports equipment will be charged as follows:
- €50 – alpinism/hiking/walking, archery, bicycle, boogie board, body board, bowling, fishing, fencing, hockey, inline skates, javelin, kite surfboard, parachute, scuba/skin diving, skateboard, snow and water ski, snowboard, sporting/hunting weapons plus ammunition, surfboard up to 2 m, tennis/squash/badminton, wakeboard, waveboard.
- €100 – canoe/kayak, hang gliding, horse riding, surfboard over 2 m, pole vault, rubber dinghy/boat, windsurf.
Golf equipment is accepted on a priority basis for a €20 fee on domestic flights and a €35 fee on international flights.
Sports equipment not mentioned above will be charged according to dimensions and weight:
- Small (up to 15 kg and/or 1.40 m) – €35.
- Medium (15-32 kg and/or 1.41-2 m) – €55.
- Large (15-32 kg and/or over 2m) – €80.
Baggage Service
Upon discovering that your baggage may be delayed or lost, you must go directly to Olympic Air offices or respective representative (Lost & Found). All information regarding your baggage will be recorded on the global central electronic system (WorldTracer). In case of delayed baggage, you must make a written complaint within 21 days from its return to you. The reimbursement process will commence if your baggage is not located within a total period of 45 days.
In case of damage to checked baggage, you must submit a written complaint to Olympic Air immediately after discovering the damage, and, at the latest, within 7 days from the date of receipt.
