Understanding its passengers’ needs, Olympic Air offers a few options for checking-in, from easy and convenient check-in, before arriving at the airport, to comfortable and assisted check-in, at the check-in counter:
- Online (Web/Mobile) Check-in.
- Kiosk Check-in.
- Counter Check-in.
When must I check in for my Olympic Air flight?
Whichever check-in method you choose, you must complete the check-in process no later than 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time, with one check-in deadline exception for flights from Athens 40 minutes before departure. Upon check-in, you will be informed about the time you must be at the boarding gate, to which you should conform, otherwise Olympic Air may cancel your seat on the flight.
Online Check-in
Passengers can check in via Olympic Air’s website using your computer, tablet, or smartphone from 48 hours up to 30 minutes before to the scheduled departure time. Simply confirm the presence on the flight, select the seat from the seating plan, and print or download the boarding pass wherever you are. Online Check-in is available for all domestic and international flights operated by Olympic Air, while for codeshare flights you may visit the website of the other airline.
Online Check-in is available for passengers with checked baggage. They can drop it off at Olympic Air’s drop-off check-in counters. Passengers should arrive at the airport and check their baggage before check-in closing time of their flight. You can board directly without passing the check-in counter if you only have carry-on luggage.
If you have connecting flights and the first leg is operated by Olympic Air, you can check in for all of your flights. If you have on the same ticket connecting flights operated by another airline, you can check in for the connecting flights departing within 24 hours.
The Online Check-in service is limited to groups up to 9 people and is not available for:
- Passengers whose journey starts with a flight operated by another airline.
- Children up to 16 years not accompanied by an adult.
- Passengers with special/medical requirements.
The procedure for Online Check-in is very simple: passengers should select the departure airport, enter the reservation number or the number of the e-ticket. Before the issue of the boarding pass, you can select a different seat from the aircraft seat plan. You have the following options to obtain your boarding pass:
- Download your Mobile Boarding Pass on your smartphone as a Mobile Boarding Pass, which is supported at most Greek domestic airports.
- Print out your Boarding Pass.
- Collect your Boarding Pass at the airport, from a kiosk or check-in counter (the only option available for passengers traveling with a pet).
Kiosk Check-in
Kiosk Check-in service saves passengers’ time. Avoiding the check-in counter queues, they can check in via Olympic Air’s self-check-in kiosks. Passengers can also make a round trip check-in so that they can check in both ways in case of a same day return flight.
Terms & Conditions
- You can use the Kiosk Check-in service in Athens, Alexandroupoli, and Thessaloniki airports.
- Kiosk Check-in is available from 24 hours to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
- Kiosk Check-in is not available in cases of passengers with special needs or passengers traveling with a free ticket, or for unaccompanied minors.
Counter Check-in
The check-in counters open 2 hours before each flight. In Athens, the check-in counters open 24 hours prior to each flight; this is the only exception. The check-in process is available no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. For check-in on codeshare flights (flights in collaboration with other airline companies), you must visit the ground check-in counters of each airline.
Boarding Procedure and Deadline
When receiving the boarding pass, passengers should proceed to the boarding gate no later than 20 minutes before the flight’s scheduled departure time. The boarding procedure must be completed 15 minutes before departure time. Passenger will not be permitted to board the aircraft, and the seat will be at Olympic Air’s disposal if they have not completed the boarding procedure within the above time frame. Along with your boarding pass, you will be asked to present your ID or passport at the gate.
