How can I check in for Oman Air flights?
Besides checking-in at the airport, Oman Air offers Online Check-in, the convenient way to check in available on www.omanair.com. Early Check-in at Muscat International Airport is another service that Oman Air offers for its passengers’ convenience.
When must I check in for my Oman Air flight?
Passengers must arrive at the airport early enough to complete all procedures (check-in, immigration, and security) in time to be present at the boarding gate. Oman Air advises passengers to report to the airport at least 3 hours before scheduled time of departure.
While Online Check-in closes 90 minutes before the flight’s departure time, the counters at the airport close 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure.
The boarding gate closes 30 minutes before scheduled departure, and you will not be able to board the flight thereafter.
Online Check-in
Online Check-in is a service available for departures from all the airports of Oman Air network, except Chittagong, and for all passengers holding confirmed bookings on Oman Air flights.
Online Check-in can be completed between 24 hours and 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Passengers can check in for Oman Air connecting/return flight as well if the flight is scheduled to depart within this time window.
During Online Check-in, passengers can select their preferred seat if available. Upon completion of the check-in process, the Boarding Pass will be generated, and it must be printed on a printer connected to your computer. If you do not have a printer, you can still check in online, and Oman Air staff will print boarding pass at the airport.
At each airport where Online Check-in is available, there are dedicated Online Check-in counters, where passengers can check in their baggage and Oman Air staff will complete the security and document verification formalities and stamp the boarding pass.
Passengers departing from all other airports except Muscat International Airport must proceed to the Online Check-In counter for staff to stamp the e-boarding pass as part of the security verification procedure. Only passengers departing from Muscat and traveling with only cabin baggage are not required to report at the Online Check-in counter and may proceed directly to the departure gate.
The Online Check-in counter will close 1 hour before the scheduled departure time of the flight. Failure to report within this time will result in cancelation of the issued boarding pass.
Early Check-in
Available only at Muscat International Airport, the Early Check-in service offers the possibility of checking-in up to 8 hours before departure. In cases of a family where not all members are physically present during Early Check-in, baggage can be accepted, and passport and visas will be checked, but boarding passes will be issued only when the entire family is seen by check-in staff at the Online Check-in counter.
