Do I really need to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with PNG Air?
If your baby is up to 2 years old, you only have to inform PNG Air that you will be travelling with an infant on your lap. Infants must travel with a passenger who is at least 15 years of age and an immediate family member or authorised guardian. Each adult is allowed to carry only one infant on their lap, and a seat will have to be purchased for a second infant, no matter their age. You can always choose to purchase a seat for your baby as long as you have a proper child restraint device.
Does PNG Air offer discounts for infants and children?
Infants (up to 2 years old) who do not occupy a seat pay a surcharge, but no fare. You should know that no bassinets are available on PNG Air aircraft if you travel with your baby on lap.
Children (2-11 years) and infants occupying a seat pay 75% of the full adult fare.
Infant’s Baggage
On PNG Air flights, infants who do not occupy a seat have no free baggage allowance, but an infant’s carrying basket or a collapsible stroller/pram may be carried free of charge in the hold. On departure, you may take your baby as far as the aircraft boarding area in a carrying basket or collapsible stroller/pram, which will then be stowed in the hold. Upon arrival at your destination, the carrying basket or collapsible stroller/pram will be returned to you at the aircraft.
