What check-in options does Qatar Airways offer?
With Qatar Airways’ check-in options, you may choose to check in before and after arriving at the airport:
- Online Check-in.
- Mobile Check-in.
- Counter Check-in.
What is the deadline for checking in at the airport?
To ensure a smooth check-in, Qatar Airways recommends that passengers arrive at the airport about 3 hours prior to departure, when Counter Check-in typically opens. Counter Check-in generally closes 1 hour before departure.
Check-in deadlines are set to ensure transfer time for those passengers on the flight with down-line connections and in the interest of maintaining Qatar Airways’ on-time performance. Depending on the fare conditions, passengers failing to check in on time may be required to make a new booking, either losing the fare value and paying for a new ticket, or just paying the difference between the new fare and the original fare plus the change fee.
Online Check-in
Online Check-in will enhance your travel experience and help you save time at the airport by choosing your seat and printing the boarding pass beforehand, and using the fast-bag-drop counters at the airport to check in your baggage. All passengers who have a confirmed booking can use Online Check-in up to 90 minutes before flight departure, starting:
- 24 hours before departure for flights to/from the US.
- 48 hours before departure for all other flights.
Online Check-in is only available for flights operated by Qatar Airways (not available for flights from Sarajevo). You can retrieve your booking using the booking reference or E-ticket number. You should have at hand the passports, visas, accommodation details and Privilege Club cards of all passengers checking-in as you may need to enter Advance Passenger Information (APIS). After confirming the details of all the travellers and selecting your seats, you can confirm the check-in and get the boarding passes. You can obtain your boarding pass in one of the following ways:
- Printed before arriving at the airport.
- Sent to your mobile phone.
- Sent to your email address.
