Do I have to reserve a seat for my baby when flying with Royal Brunei Airlines?
If your baby is up to 2 years old, you can choose either to hold your baby on your lap or to purchase an additional seat for him/her.
If you choose to share the seat with your baby, you only have to inform Royal Brunei Airlines that you will be traveling with an infant on your lap. Each adult passenger is allowed to hold only one infant on lap, and seats must be purchased for additional infants, no matter their age.
If you choose to purchase a seat for your baby, you must have a proper restraint device. Please contact a Royal Brunei Airlines office for details regarding the child restraint devices allowed for use on board.
Does Royal Brunei Airlines offer discounts for children?
For infants without a separate seat, Royal Brunei Airlines offers a 90% discount on the adult fare.
For infants with a separate seat reserved and children 2 to 11 years old, Royal Brunei Airlines offers a 20% discount on the adult fare.
Traveling with Babies
Infant facilities such as bassinets, baby food, bottles, and diapers are available upon request. You should make your request at the time of booking, via the Customer Service Centre or to your local Royal Brunei Airlines office. However, passengers traveling with infants are advised to bring essential baby items on board, inside a small bag that is easily accessible during flight.
To secure a bassinet seat, you must purchase a Preferred Seat in advance. Bassinets suitable for infants up to 24 months and 10 kg are available at the following Preferred Seats:
- A320 – 26A, 26K.
- A320neo – 21A, 21K.
- B787-8 – 26A, 26D/G, 26K, 42D/G.
Baggage
As hand baggage, you are allowed to take with you into the passenger cabin, in addition to your carry-on allowance, one bag containing the infant’s food for consumption during the flight and other baby items (such as diapers, baby wipes, and creams), with a maximum weight of 5 kg (11 lbs) and maximum dimensions of 55 x 38 x 20 cm (22 x 15 x 8 inches).
Infants without a separate seat are allowed 10 kg of free checked baggage. Baby strollers are not accepted as hand baggage and must be checked in. At some airports, lightweight strollers can be checked in at the boarding gate.
