FrFounded in 1989 as Tradewinds, SilkAir is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, operating a fleet of 33 aircraft and serving over 40 destinations in Asia and Southwest Pacific.
As of November 2019, SilkAir has a fleet consisting of 2 Airbus A319 100s, 8 Airbus A320 200s, 17 Boeing B737 800s, and 6 Boeing 737 MAX 8s (grounded), with 31 more Boeing 737 MAX 8s on order, all of which should be delivered by the end of 2022.
