In addition to check-in services at the airport, Kiosk Check-in and Counter Check-in, Thomas Cook Airlines offers Online Check-in to its passengers. Also, Thomas Cook Airlines UK offers the Sundown Check-in option for passengers departing from London Gatwick and Manchester.
When must I check in for a Thomas Cook Airlines flight?
The time on the itinerary is the departure time of the flight, which is not the same as the time when passengers must check in or be at the boarding gate. The airline may refuse to carry passengers who are late.
Desks are usually open for check-in starting 3-4 hours prior to the departure time. The recommended time for check-in is 2 hours prior to the departure time. Check-in desks strictly close 1 hour before scheduled departure, and failure to check in before the closing time will result in you being denied boarding to the flight. Passengers should be at the gate 45 minutes before departure.
Online Check-in
Online Check-in is available for most flights operated by Thomas Cook Airlines UK between 24 hours and 2 hours before departure.
Online Check-in is not available for:
- Unaccompanied Minors.
- Passengers traveling with animals.
- Passengers with special baggage that requires a fee to be paid at the airport.
- Groups with more than 9 passengers.
With Online Check-in, you can print your boarding pass or get a mobile boarding pass on your device and go directly to the gate if you only have hand baggage. Baggage drop-off counters are available for passengers with checked baggage.
If you experience problems with printing the boarding pass, check-in desk at the airport will be able to print these off for you. Also, all passengers are still able to use the check-in desks at the airport free of charge if they cannot or prefer not to use the Online Check-in service.

Kiosk Check-in is available up to one hour before scheduled departure, and bags can be quickly and conveniently checked in your at the baggage drop-off counters.
Thomas Cook Sundown Check-in
At London Gatwick and Manchester only, Thomas Cook Airlines UK is offering the Thomas Cook Sundown Check-in service. This service allows passengers to check in from 16:00 – 22:00 (4PM – 10PM) the night before for a flight that departs the following day before noon (12PM).
Sundown Check-in is only available for ticketless flights (NOTIX) operated by Thomas Cook Airlines. For customers traveling with P&O Cruises, the Sundown Check-in service is currently unavailable.
Sundown Check-in can be completed alongside Online Check-in. In this case, even if Online Check-in has been completed, all passengers who want to use the Sundown Check-in service must be present at the time of check-in. It is permitted to check only some of your luggage the night before, and the remaining the following morning. There is a £5/€5 per passenger fee to use this service, excluding infants and Premium Class passengers.
