Enjoyed the flight immensely with excellent service from the air hostesses. They were very efficient and friendly. The food was good and more than enough for me. Unfortunately I had a lady in front of me eith her seat reclined and she couldn't stay still, bumping the seat all the time but that's part of flying I suppose.

This was a nice, Premium Economy seat on Virgin Atlantic. It was very comfortable, with a good recline. There is a fold-down footrest for shorter travelers, and a very good entertainment system. I was able to sleep for half the flight, and the location was good (in spite of this seat having a “warning” status on the seat map. I am 6’4” tall and the seat worked well for me.

Old plane and very disappointing, felt like economy seats, touch screens hit and miss and could not watch the latest Jack Black film due to the sound being garbled, Tui premium much much better!

The position of the seats were fine but the quality of the seats was awful. They were very uncomfortable and the padding was on existent. For an economy flight the legroom was better than average and you could angle your seat back without having to worry about the people behind you.

The A330-300 is an old aircraft and is certainly showing its age with the poor economy seating layout and condition. Virgin Atlantic customers deserver better but these seats had terrible legroom and seat padding that is long overdue for replacement. I flew on 5 flights on this trip, 4 Delta aircraft and even the 2 x 1hr Delta flights had larger and more comfortable seats. Virgin passengers were encouraged to pay £50 to sit in the 'extra comfort' seats and quite a few did including myself although after 7 hours they were also pretty terrible. Plus there was no option for economy travellers to move without paying the surcharge. The cabin crew were very insistant about that. At the back of the aircraft the engine noise on acceleration and climbing was really loud, overcoming the headphones and dated entertainment screens, the choice of movies was OK but having the headphone socket on side of the armrest just leads to damage to the headphone jack. Food was only OK, late hot cooked dinner at 10pm but no salad and a 'breakfast' of a yogurt and biscuit. Disappointed with Virgin, Delta rocked!

Back row in the bubble. Fantastic seat, plenty of leg room, and didn’t have to worry about reclining the seat as nobody behind. The overhead locker was full, but they have ‘wardrobes’ which were fine. Plenty of room to get up and walk about too. I have to say, although I was in economy, I felt I was in first class. The plane/seat and an amazing crew, I cannot praise highly enough.

My husband and I usually book Premium Economy purely for the comfort factor in terms of the type of seats and leg room. Hubby is over 6ft. Due to ridiculous pricing of Premium this time round we booked 2 economy delight seats.. i found the leg room ok but hubby was a little snug. Seats felt a little hard so much shifting to get comfortable. The old air Berlin plane refurbished but not very well. The glue to the covering of the seat in front of me was becoming unstuck. Overall i would still prefer Premium. But if cost is a factor next time will buy economy delight.

I am a fairly fit 74 year-old, but have two medical conditions which make long haul flying uncomfortable - a replacement hip (necessitated by injury, not arthritis) and a delicate bladder, caused by radiotherapy following cancer surgery. I was pleased to find aisle seat 24C in premium economy, which enabled me to fully stretch and flex my right leg, and also to leave my seat and walk in the aisle from time to time without inconveniencing the person sat next to me. I also appreciated the proximity to the toilets - a necessity for me on a ten hour flight. The seat itself was fine for both width and legroom (I am 5 foot 10 and 15 stone), though the seat padding was a tad thin. I always travel with a fleece which when folded and placed on the seat solved the problem. On the return overnight flight, in seat 23C, the passenger in front kept his seat at full recline most of the way. I had to recline mine, though I am able to sleep in a sitting position if necessary. Squeezing out of my seat during the night was not easy, even when I fully reclined my seat (carefully, so to not awake the passenger behind). I don't know the answer to this. I was just grateful I had an aisle seat, and didn't have to squeeze past one or more other reclined seats. The cabin service was excellent, with warm and friendly staff. I can't drink caffeine (tea or coffee) because of my delicate bladder, but was always brought peppermint tea freshly made in the galley. All meals on both flights were good - a well-balanced menu. I would certainly fly Virgin Atlantic premium economy again - it is well worth the extra for peace of mind and comfort.

This journey was made very pleasant as a result of several factors. The Virgin staff looked after me and my wife impeccably, always attentive and nothing was too much trouble, food was fine and the constant flow of soft drinks and tea/coffee was more than sufficient. The variety of entertainment was bountiful, the seats were comfortable and the journey was smooth. All in all despite a 10 hour travel time a very enjoyable experience.
