Not a good sign when you approach the gate desk and they are paging you: a late connection from Edmonton. But a fortuitous incident in the end, as I traded 1A, which I was not keen on for 8G. No need to climb over anyone to get out of your seat or to be climbed over should your seatmate wish to visit the head. There seems to be just a bit less pitch in these seats than in the main cabin. There was the inevitable screaming baby at the front of the economy class cabin, so I do recommend the main cabin overall as it is generally quieter.

When flying out of LHR, Executive First pax on AC are generally treated to high tea a few hours after the main meal service. This is a lovely touch and the scones are very nice indeed, considering they're airline food. The clotted cream is simply sinful and the the strawberry jam is decadent. A choice of teas is also offered. Although I avoid transitting through LHR if I can at all avoid it, departing on AC from T3 at Heathrow does make up for it in the form of this delightful high tea.

Although reasonably private, these seats can feel claustrophobic. I'm not a big person but they did feel narrow and there was a lack of stowage space. The seating is not great if you are travelling with someone else, or enjoy looking out of the window. IFE had a good selection but was rather slow. Service was very good and food was amongst the best I have have ever experienced on an airliner. I understand this seating is due to be replaced by that used on Air Canada's 787's.

I've had several opportunities to fly Air Canada's relatively new business product. While it is pleasant to be isolated from fellow passengers, flying at a 45 degree angle does take a little bit of getting used to. The herringbone design is not my favourite as it makes the seat narrower. It is still too short for me (6'4", 193cm) and definitely too narrow to sleep comfortably.

Air Canada's 330s are fitted with AVOD in Executive First class. The selection is nowhere as detailed as Emirates's ICE programming of that of SQ, but it is still decent enough (about 20-30 choices) to while away 9 hours. In any event, it seems to be much better than what US based carriers are offering in their premium class cabins these days.

Seat 13k is a standard business clas seat. There is some extra storage space behind the seat due to the bulkhead pill which also provides some additional privacy. The rear business cabin does feal a littel more exclusive due to the fewer travelers but it also getrs less attention from the cabin crew. Some people may be bothered by the noise from the economy section directly behind the seat

having flown on a number of airlines with flatbeds it was strange at first being on such an accute angle. However, after a while I got used to it. Service was good and the food was standard for Business Class. I have had better choice of entertainment.

Seat 1k is a standard business seat but overhead space is shared with the passenger in 1G and the first 3 windows are blocked so there is no outside view unless you turn your head all the way around

Seat 9A is a standard business clas seat. It is more private than the others in this cabin due to the pillar on the aisle and this also provides a little more storage space behind the seat.

330 is a beautiful plane. The seat was very comfortable and alllowed to be tilted enough when resting. The service was exceptional. The only negative was the rubber chicken in the meal.
