A British Airways 777 in the eight seat version in first class.
2A was the window seat. I was not troubled by the galley for first in front of seat 1A, nor the galley for business behind. the seats had sliding doors making each seat a private suite. sitting the seat was wide enough, but converted into a bed I found it quite hard, and too narow, the mattress pad was not thick enough. Plenty of storage space, and a deep wide individual luggage compartment above, this easily took my wheel on bag and my brief case. The entertainment system provided the largest screen I have ever seen, but I found the controls a bit slow and fiddly. BA advertised free WiFi, this was a complete bust , it would engage for a few seconds and sometimes a whole minute before dropping out, I had hoped it would improve over land as we aproached Heathrow but no such luck. I was unable to send an email to my pick up, the plane was over two hours late, so my pick up kicked around Heathrow for an extra two hours. The food was good as was the service, on trying to sleep, i found the cabin too bright, the "No Smoking"sign right above my head illuminated the bed brightly as did two cabin spotlights, pretty anoying. Obviously I paid lots for the ticket, I felt paying that much for a two hours late flight with not much sleep was a waste of money. I would have felt better just paying the business class fare. I have had better experiences on Air France 777's from Paris to SFO, wider , softer seats, better food. | |||||||||||||||||||||
