There are currently 24 B747 400s in the Qantas fleet, which comprises of a total of 201 planes (figures for Sept 2005). There are four seating configurations for the B747 438 longreach, divided into two or three classes. The total seating capacity for this plane is between 343 and 432 passengers depending on the layout. This plane cruises at 920km/h and has a range of 12700km.
First class flyers on B747 400s and A330 300s have an 8.4” touch-screen in their armrest, PC power ports and telephone facilities.
Skybed is now installed on all B747-400 and A330 aircraft and is available on all scheduled services to New York, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Mumbai
Audio and Video on Demand is now showing on all flights to Mumbai from Sydney, to Hong Kong from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, to Shanghai and Beijing from Sydney and Melbourne, and to Singapore from Adelaide, Darwin and Brisbane.
