Rio De Janeiro - Galeão–antonio Carlos Jobim International Airport (GIG)
Our flight from LHR to Lisbon was a pleasant experience but our premium class connecting flight to Rio was dreadful!
Our pre booked/reserved seats had been given to a Portuguese couple ( there’s a surprise) next shock was the seat pods, apart from the fact they’re so narrow (couldn’t have my arms by my side) it appears some seats recline to be horizontal and a few (ours) only to about 65 degrees, 10 hours at an awkward angle gave us both bad back ache, The food was terrible - both our meals were cold as was the tea and coffee but the most disappointing and unacceptable issue we had was the appalling attitude of the cabin crew- one woman in particular was the most miserable specimen we’ve ever come across, sorry TAP, never ever again!

Planet is in need of upgrading. The entertainment system is not the class you would expect, the staff are efficient but impersonal. Compared with other airlines on the route to Rio de Janeiro holds the other higher class on its business class. I have now tested TAP but will return to the other companies I already use in my 4 trips per year. Something radical has to happen with TAP, and I will give them one more chance.

I know the TAP A330 seatplan. The seatplan on this site does not reflect, the actual plan. The last row is row 42. I was assigned to seat G. The pitch was awful, the known 33'pitch is actual around 30 or 31' I changed to seat 30D witch was a little more comfort. Seats on bulkhead are actual seats 28AB and HJ plus 27DEFG.

TAP have changed the configuration several years ago. They have 24/239 which means the pitch has been reduced from 32 to 30-31. The rows starts with 11 to 26 in the first economy cabin. I have traveled 12 times with this aircraft the last years and the config. is the same on all aircrafts.

I had booked this flight with United reward travel and was preassigned a seat, which is unusual for TAP. Your website saved me from being seated row 41 "danger zone". Row 18 had plenty of legroom, recline and overhead storage.

This seat is in the second row after the closets and near the exit, which gives you a nice space to stretch your legs during the flight, because in front of you, to the right, there are no seats.
