Having always upgraded to Virgin Premium Economy, we decided this year to upgrade to Upper Class. It's just a different world. From the moment we arrived at checkin, to the Clubhouse lounge, to boarding ... it was certainly first class. The service of our cabin crew was absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and we were certainly looked after.
If I had to find something to grumble about anything in my experience of flying Upper Class, and this is definitely just me being picky, would be the overall layout of the cabin.
I booked two seats which I was led to believe would be facing each other, having been given this choice or one in front of the other. My husband and I decided that it wold be nicer to be able to converse if we were looking st each other rather than talking over the high sides of the Upper Class booth type seats. However, the design of the cabin means that 5G it not opposite 5K.
After a bit of seat swapping with another couple who were also slightly disappointed with the layout, we ended up sitting beside each other talking over the booth sides.
Apart from this ... we loved it and would highly recommend flying Virgin Upper Class if funds allow.

This was my first time flying upper class with the seats that made into a bed. I hate flying overnight and the seat did make it somewhat more bearable. We booked through Delta, this was a partner flight with Virgin.
The window seats do appear to be a little roomier and the layout of the middle seats have better storage on the right side of the plane than the left. I ended up swapping seats with my husband he was in 6D next to me (left side). He’s a large man and the layout was better for him. I was fine with either seat.
The service was wonderful, the only complaint I have is they would not let my husband plug in his Cpap to sleep, needless to say his experience wasn’t quite as good as mine. Delta does allow this, he has worn it before on overnight flights. The explanation was Virgin wouldn’t accept the liability of a power failure and the device stop working. Guess the don’t know Sleep Apnea can kill you and that’s why he wears the Cpap!

I flew Virgin Atlantic (Economy Delight), a few days ago to New York for a city break. I chose Economy Delight as I wanted a break from queing and I wanted to strech more during the flight. The economy delight experience was fantastic defintely worth the upgradre from Economy Delight, the legroom was great, I recieved 150% more miles and I had priority boarding and check-in which was well worth it. The food on this flight was typical economy not the wow-factor but not bad, a satisfactory meal. The service on this flight was very good, I definately think that Virgin crew are one of the best out there, (Turkish Airlines should be taking notes). The entertainment was excellent a wide selection of movies for all genres.

The seats were fine although the gap between the side of the aircraft and the armrest was a pain and I had to push my coat and fleece down there to make it more comfortable. The food was excellent and plenty of it and the flight was mainly smooth. My main gripe on outbound and inbound, was the lack of maintenance on the film screen/touch screen/handset. They have been used so much that they are worn out and not very responsive unless you press down hard several times. This was most frustrating on the games (Millionaire). Knowing these are probably used a lot, there should be more of a regime to monitor and look after these items.

We had very bad seats on the Virgin Atlantic A-350. We paid extra for these seats, what a mistake! The seat width is terribly narrow-There is absolutely no place to place your water bottle or even a neck pillow. The constant bumping of my shoulder by other passengers using the toilets was bad enough, but the bumping of the service carts hurt even worse. This was a red eye flight with low lighting and a stewardess tripped over my feet. I felt bad for her because she took quite a fall, but in all honesty, I am only 5'2, so my legs are not seriously in the way. I feel like they should pay me for enduring this 7 hour torture.

A330.300 with the coffin seats in Virgin Upper Class
Worst business class seats I have ever travelled in. Seat flips to make bed, so totally horizontal, no option to raise head slightly and not comfy at all. Too narrow, shoulders touching sides, spare seat belt on footstool, in way of feet. Daytime as a seat not bad but still narrow. Very little in way of storage.
This seat would put me off flying this route again. Hopefully the 330 NEO will address the issues.
As always, the Virgin staff were brilliant, entertainment excellent, and the food and drink superb, except for Virgin's champagne which was not good - more than made up for by the Sauvignon Blanc which was nectar!

Great service, especially with the separate check-in at LHR. Helpful and kind cabin crew and enjoyed the food very much. Don't much care for this type of seat layout, where all seats face the aisle. A lack of privacy meant that I spent the whole journey looking at the feet of the person in the next seat. I had a window seat, but couldn't see out of the window without craning my neck backwards. Much prefer Qatar, Singapore and Etihad Business class layout. Virgin's smacks of jamming in as many seats as possible, which shouldn't happen when you've paid for a business class service.

Based on reviews I had read I expected a very uncomfortable flight , but it wasn't worse than any other international flight. I am 5'6"and leg room was adequate. I didn't see any mechanical boxes taking up space under seats, which I expected from reading online reviews. Seat comfort was average. I didn't like the movie/entertainment system on this Virgin Atlantic flight as the way it displayed options wasn't intuitive and often reset itself. Virgin did provide over-the-head headphones rather than the typical earbuds, which provided better sound.

The A330s are dated now compared with the newer Dreamliner and excellent A350. The touch screen is frustratingly unresponsive and on the small side. Entertainment is limited with few new releases. Virgin need to modernise their fleet if they want to keep up with the likes of Qatar. On the positive side I like the 2-4-2 configuration feels more spacious than the 3-3-3 configuration of other planes, and nice to have the option to sit in a block of two seats.

Ugh!! Paid for premium economy and got economy delight which was not very delightful. Awful seats with passengers constantly using the area in front of us as a freeway. Our flight home (same seats) had the most unprofessional crew ever. They were more interested in talking to each other than taking care of the paying passengers who make sure they have a job. I have flown VA at least a dozen times and this time they really dropped the ball.
