There are 451 B737s in the Southwest fleet, 232 of which are the 700 series. This model has a total seating capacity of 137 passengers in a single class configuration. It flies short to medium haul routes.
If your flight is less than two hours in duration, you will be served peanuts/pretzels. If your flight is longer than two hours, you will be served a packaged snack. Southwest Airlines does not serve sandwiches or meals, however, you may take something to eat onboard. Southwest Airlines serves complimentary coffee, juices, and other cold beverages on all flights.
The average age of the planes in the Southwest fleet is about 9 years. Each plane flies an average of seven, 607 mile flights per day, amounting to about 12.5 hours of flying time. Southwest was the launch customer for the Boeing 737-700 in 1997. Southwest was also a launch customer for the Boeing 737-500 and 300 series aircraft. Performance-enhancing Blended Winglets have been added to the fleet of 737-700s, and all new 737-700 aircraft arrive from Boeing with Blended Winglets installed.

Flying these days should be considered as an alternative to water-boarding, as far as torture is concerned. Seriously, wtf is up with airlines these days? Asking passengers to endure several hours of hunched-shoulder discomfort should be criminal. There is simply ZERO shoulder room, you end up fighting with your seat mates for a sliver of armrest, just to try to find SOMETHING to give you a moment's reprieve from the agony. Do yourself a favor and drive, or take a train...MUCH more comfortable. If you MUST fly, and I pity you...then by all means accept nothing less than an emergency aisle seat, at least you'll have a modicum of knee room. Plus, work out a Plan with your seatmates, even if you have to rock/paper/scissors or come up with some sort of payment...to alternate who will scrunch and who will sit back, because THREE of you simply WON'T be able to lean back in the seat at the same time.
I'm 6'1" and about 210 and fit, and, to paraphrase Mr. T, "I pity the fools" who are bigger than me and try to fly.

Seats are as comfortable as they get for economy class seating. Seats are assigned by boarding number you receive by checking in on-line. If you read the Southwest website, it clearly states there is no in-flight entertainment so don't expect any. SW is experimenting with in-flight WIFI on select flights. Southwest typically has the best air fares between regional cities. You can also cancel or change a SW flight without penalty or receive credit for airfare to be used with in one year. SW doesn't charge extra for checked luggage unless its over weight or more than 2 checked bags. Book early and check back later for reduced airfares.

The seats are ok. I'm a little heavier build guys and the width is a little small. Its only a 2 1/2 hour flight so it wasn't too bad. We were nervous about the open seating so we purchased the Early Bird and had our choice of seats. We were a party of 7 so I choose to sit with others...Now I choose my people with eye contact and invites. I chose two elderly small ladies and it worked well for us all. They were happy that they didn't have to ask and the conversation was nice.
The seats also seemed really high and for someone not liking small spaces..they may feel a little closed in.

I don't like the airlines, but due to scheduling and company rate policy, am forced to use it. Seats are crowded. I always try to get an aisle seat, just so I can stretch. No decent food options. Don't like first come, first served check-in policy for seating. I book far enough in advance, I should be able to choose my seat. The only redeeming factors are good planes (I like Boeing) and good crews. I have another flight coming in a week and do not look forward to it.

Don't be shy to grab up the seat with the emergency exit. The view from the window is not overly obstructed. The stewardess offered me this seat as I was traveling alone. I'm glad I accepted her offer.
Flight offers a movie so bring your headphones or purchase then for 5$.
This seat also is equipped with a plug Si I can charge my phone as we fly. On-board wi-fi is also available. It comes at a cost but we'll worth it when you are a social jitterbug such as myself.

I knew going in that the seats would be tight. I am 6'4" and 220 lbs. I boarded early and sat within the first 8 rows so I am only familiar with the front of the aircraft. I did not realize that the front toilet would have NO headroom. Standing in front of the commode with your head leaning on your shoulder presents some aiming challenges especially if the seat will not stay up on its own. My suggestion is to drain the lizard before boarding a flight of more than two hours.

Limited view outside due to wing. Smooth ride considering turbulence. Seat has small storage under seat in front of you but it is hard to reach once you are seated due to not being able to lean forward very well due to space between sats. Other than that it is fine. Would probably sit several seats back or forward to get a better outside view. No entertainment unless you have your own wifi capable device

Southwest is the best short haul airline in the skies in the US. Great crews - upbeat and friendly. 12E is a great seat for larger people (like me) as you have ample room to your right and generally can use the tray on teh back of the seat to your right. Also, you often have the option of using the underseat to your right so long as 13F doesn't use it.

I realize that this is a low cost carrier and not to expect much from them, but still. While the airplane was clean and looked nice, the seats weren't the most comfortable out there, and they certainly wouldn't win any awards for in flight entertainment. So, for a short flight, they're really not that bad; however I would not want to fly them for any significant length of time.

This was the greatest flight I have been on in ages. The flight attendants were hilarious and very thoughtful. They brought all the snacks I could eat when I told them I had not had food yet. The announcer FA should replace Jay Leno. The seats were comfortable enough. Not if I was 7'tall. The service was superior to even overseas travel. I like friendly flights can't stand the bitches on Delta.
